Reidsville Pest Control And Exterminator Service

REIDSVILLE

Reidsville, North Carolina started out as an outpost and stop over for the stagecoach line between Salisbury, North Carolina and Danville, Virginia. Back then, it was called Wright’s Crossroads. Today, Reidsville, located in Rockingham County, has a population of about 15,000. In the late 19th century the little town grew mostly from the endeavors of a local farmer, businessman and justice of peace named David S. Reid. His family lived and worked in Reidsville helping it grow from a small outpost to a thriving city.

American Tobacco Company moved to Reidsville in the early 1870’s about the same time the city was incorporated. The company brought jobs for Reidsville residents and the surrounding areas. The American Tobacco Company closed in 1994, while other mills moved in such as Cone Mills and Burlington Industries. This caused an economic boom for the city. Sadly, today these mills moved out of the city. But in recent years, the community has experienced new growth.
